Pitrupaksha: Kuravpur, a spiritually charged pilgrimage destination, sanctified by the Divine!

First incarnation of Shri Dattatreya, ‘Shripad Shrivallabh’

Kuravpur ! Located in the Raichur district of the southern Indian state of Karnataka is a spiritually charged Teerthkshetra imbuing the locale with an aura of profound sacredness and spiritual significance.

This island, adorned with both natural splendor and an aura of divinity, is embraced by the gentle waters of the river Krishna. It bore witness to the abode of the first incarnation, the revered avatar of Shri Dattatreya, known as ‘Shripad Shrivallabh,’ who graced its shores for an enduring period of almost 14 years. Upon the fulfillment of His divine mission, this sacred land withdrew into the veils of obscurity, carrying within it the timeless echoes of His spiritual sojourn.

The incarnation of Shri Datta, ‘Yogiraj Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati’ (Tembeswami) was blessed by the eight alphabet mantra ‘Digambara Digambara Shripad Vallabh Digambara’ at Shrikshetra Kuravpur. Within this hallowed ground, a cave has been consecrated by the esteemed presence of Vasudevanand Saraswati, bestowing upon it an ineffable sanctity. It was within these very confines that Pachlegaonkar Maharaj was graced with a divine vision, a celestial glimpse of Shripad Shrivallabh, further enriching the spiritual resonance of this blessed abode.
