Police suspect that the accused could be a having psychiatric problems

Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh) – Ganesh Gupta broke and vandalised a Deity Hanuman Idol that was installed at the Temple built at the Amrut Sarovar Lake which is behind the Singhpur Bazar Police Station. He took out the Trishul kept in the Temple and chased away the local people who were opposing him. Gupta when caught even tried to attack the Police. The vandalising of the temple and idol created tension in the area. Police were prompt in bring the situation under control in the area. Police Inspector Anurag Kumar said at first sight the culprit seems to be having psychiatrist issues; but this will have to be examined. The criminal act is unpardonable. It has hurt the religious sentiments of the people.
