8 Naxals killed in Jharkhand

Bokaro (Jharkhand) – Eight Naxals were killed in an encounter with security forces in the early hours of 21stApril. The encounter took place in the forest between the Lugu and Jhumra hills of the district. Several weapons have also been recovered from the spot. Vivek, a Naxal carrying a reward of ₹1 crore, was also killed in the encounter. So far, a total of eight Naxalite bodies have been recovered. It is learnt that more Naxals are hiding at the spot and a search operation is underway.

Based on intelligence, soldiers of the 209 Cobra Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force and the district police were jointly conducting a search operation in this forest. Then, the Naxals opened fire on them as soon as they saw the soldiers. In retaliation, the soldiers also opened fire. The encounter lasted for about two and a half hours. In which 8 Naxals were killed. This is being considered a major success for the security forces.
