Bhosari (District Pune) – In the newspaper classifieds, an advertisement has been published with the content ‘Boys and girls wanted to dance in the procession of Shri Ganesh Murti Visarjan in Bhosari area’.  The name of the advertiser was not given, but the location was given as Bhosari.  In this advertisement, a mobile number was also given for contacting.  A cut-out of the printed ad is circulating on social media.

The advertisement stated as given below –

‘100 boys and girls are required to dance in the crowd of Shree Ganesha Murti Visarjan for only 1 day i.e. 27th September.  Age 18 to 30 years, Time 5 pm to 10 pm, Place – Bhosari, Salary Rs 300′

Editorial Perspective

  • The immersion procession requires devotees who devote themselves to immersing Shri Ganesh murti singing bhajans and devotional chants, not those who take money and dance to film songs.  It is a shame that today, due to lack of education on Dharma and for the sake of fame; dancers are invited by advertising in such a way.
  • Will the purpose of public Ganeshotsav ever be achieved due to such attitude ?
