Washington (USA) – Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon official, has criticised Canadian PM Justin Trudeau for making baseless allegations against India. He said, ‘Prime Minister Trudeau, I think, has made a huge mistake. He has made allegations in a manner which he hasn’t been able to back. There are 2 possibilities here. Either he was shooting from the hip, and he doesn’t have the evidence to support the accusations he made against the Indian Government. Or there is something there, in which case he needs to explain why his Government was sheltering a terrorist with blood on his hands’. Rubin was speaking in an interview given to ANI news agency. He is an American scholar of international relations and a former high-ranking official in the US Government.

Canada picking a fight with India is like an ant picking up a fight with an elephant !
Michael Rubin further said, ‘There’s a much greater danger for Canada than India (in this whole dispute). If Canada wants to pick a fight (with India), frankly at this point, it is like an ant picking a fight against an elephant. The fact of the matter is India is the world’s largest democracy. It’s far more important strategically, arguably than Canada is, especially as concern grows with regard to China and other matters in the Indian Ocean Basin and in the Pacific’.
Nobody trusts Trudeau !
Experts are of the opinion that Trudeau’s accusations come against the backdrop of the elections that are soon to be held in Canada. Rubin said that Trudeau has not been able to present any evidence yet. Therefore, when he asks others to trust him, nobody really does. All this is happening in the backdrop of elections. As of now, Trudeau isn’t long for the Canadian premiership.
