High Court quashes FIR against Raman Singh, Ex-Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and BJP’s Spokesperson Sambit Patra

Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) – The Chhattisgarh High Court has ordered the quashing of an FIR registered against former Chief Minister and BJP leader Raman Singh, as well as BJP’s National Spokesperson Sambit Patra. The Court said that no criminal case can be made against them in this matter. The Congress party had registered a case against the two in May 2021.

Raman Singh and Sambit Patra circulated the ‘Congress COVID toolkit’ on 18th May 2021 on Twitter. They claimed through this tweet that the Congress had circulated a toolkit on ‘How to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP over COVID mismanagement’. The alleged toolkit was attached to the tweet. The Police registered a case against the two, based on a complaint received from the youth wing of the Congress party.
