A case against the name change is pending in the Bombay High Court. The Government was yet to examine the evidence presented in the Court. Hence, it may be possible that the State Government would not take a speedy decision, but now the Government has published the Gazette. Earlier Aurangabad city had been renamed ‘Chhatrapati Samabhajinagar’ and Osmanabad city had been named ‘Dharashiv’ but the Aurangabad Division, District, Sub-District, Taluka, and Village were not renamed. Similar was the case of Osmanabad Division, District, Sub-District, Taluka, and Village.
