Bihar Education Minister and RJD leader Chandra Shekhar Yadav claims Prophet Mohammad was ‘Maryada Purushottam’

Criticism by BJP

Nalanda (Bihar) – Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Bihar’s Education Minister and a leader of ‘Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)’ claimed Prophet Mohammad was ‘Maryada Purushottam’ while addressing a programme held to celebrate ‘Shrikrushnashtami’ festival at Hilsa. (Yadav is comparing a name given to a Hindu Deity, with a non-Hindu religious entity. Hindus need to take him to task. – Editor) BJP has criticised Yadav for his statement as Yadav’s attempt to appease Muslims. Earlier Chandrashekhar Yadav had even criticised ‘Ramcharitmanas’. Yadav said that ‘Maryada Purushottam’ Prophet Mohammad was sent on the Earth to establish honesty when evilness and dishonesty had increased in the world. Islam has been created for honest people; Islam has come to oppose evilness and dishonesty, but dishonest people also call themselves Muslims, which ‘Allah’ doesn’t permit.

CM Nitish Kumar should take action against Yadav – demands Danish Eqbal, BJP

Danish Eqbal, BJP’s media-Chief for Bihar, said that Yadav’s statement had crossed all limits of appeasement. Yadav had insulted a Holy Scripture earlier. It has become a tradition of RJD. It is politics of dividing people. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should take action against such ministers.

Editorial Viewpoint

There is only one ‘Maryada Purushottam in the world and that is Bhagawan Shriram. It is improper to refer to anyone else by that name. People should oppose, in a lawful manner, those, who are making such statements for getting the Muslim votes.
