Paris (France) – Government schools in France have banned female Muslim students from wearing the Abaya. French Education Minister Gabriel Attal shared this information in an interview with a television channel. He said, ‘When you walk into a classroom, the religious identity of the students should not be revealed by their attire’.
France banned headscarves in schools in 2004 and full-face veils in public in 2010.
Abaya banned in exam centres in Saudi Arabia too
Abaya is the traditional dress of women in Saudi Arabia. However, Saudi Arabia’s Department of Education ordered last year that Students will not be allowed to wear Abaya in the examination center. Only students wearing the uniform prescribed by the school or college will be allowed to enter the examination hall.
