25 Rohingya Muslims apprehended in connection with violence in Nuh

Shanties of Rohingya Muslims demolished

Nuh (Haryana) – Haryana Police have apprehended 25 Rohingya Muslims in connection with the violence that took place here on 31st July. 20 cases have been registered against them. Due to the Myanmar violence in 2017, these Rohingyas fled to India. According to the Police, they reached Nuh from different parts of India.

According to the information received from local sources, there are currently around 2,000 Rohingya Muslims living in Nuh. The Police said that they have received inputs which point to involvement of some Rohingya Muslims in the violence.

Police have demolished 250 shanties in Tavadu of Nuh District. These were mainly inhabited by Rohingya Muslims. All of them were already involved in various criminal activities. Police informed that this action was taken in response to their involvement in the 31st July Nuh violence.

Nuh’s newly appointed SP Narender Bijarniya said, “We are examining the documents of these Rohingya Muslims living as refugees. They are said to possess UN issued ‘refugee cards’. We will verify its authenticity”. (Refugee card or not, if they are complicit in violence, they should be severely punished according to International Law and sent back to their home country – Editor)

It is not a new thing that refugees who seek refuge in another country resort to violence in that country. A similar picture exists in France, Germany, England, and the US. It is equally true that Asaduddin Owaisi, who used to complain about demolishing the shanties of so-called ‘poor’ Muslims, will not even utter a word now.
