New Delhi – “Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan should have been grateful to M Gandhi and Indian Government at that time because they saved Pakistan from destruction. M Gandhi even gave his life to save Pakistan”,  stated Ishtiaq Ahmed, a professor of Pakistani origin in Sweden, in an interview.

Ishtiaq Ahmed said,

1. If all the Muslims of India had migrated to Pakistan at the time of partition, Pakistan would have been destroyed. At that time M Gandhi and Nehru stood behind Pakistan and helped.

2. Even Muhammad Ali Jinnah did not want all the Muslims of India to migrate to Pakistan. Just as Pakistan did not allow its Hindus and Sikhs to stay at the time of partition, if India also had done the same to its 3.5 crore Muslims, they would have migrated to Pakistan from India.

3. East Pakistan was poor at that time. The population of West Pakistan at that time was 3.25 crore. If all the Muslims of India had migrated to Pakistan, the population would have been more than 6.75 crore. It is said that at that time there was no writing paper in Pakistan. If all these Muslims had migrated to Pakistan at such a time, then Pakistan would have been destroyed and eradicated.

4. From this, M Gandhi and Nehru saved Pakistan. Jinnah should have been grateful to both of them for that. They did so much for Pakistan.
