Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh) – Saint Pius Senior Secondary School, a missionary school, made Hindu students offer namaz and Kalma (sentence meaning Allah is the greatest) on the day of Bakri Eid. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) lodged a complaint in this regard, after which the Sub Divisional Magistrate issued an order for inquiry into this matter. P S Solanki, the District Education Officer, said that the school has been issued a show-cause notice. VHP has demanded immediate revoking of licence of this school.
The school Principal said that they celebrated all festivals which are celebrated in this country. (Celebrating a festival is one thing and asking students to offer namaz is another thing. The school management needs to think about the effects of the school asking Muslim students to read Bhagawadgeeta. – Editor) Under this, the Bakri Eid programme was held. Bakri Eid was going to be celebrated with all students at the time of prayers.

Animesh Joshi, the District Minister of VHP, said that the concerned school has always been in controversy in case of religious conversions matter. Earlier, on the occasion of a Youth Festival, more than 150 non-local students from rural areas were brought and initiated into Christianity in this school. Pro-Hindu organisations had opposed conversion activities at that time.

Do missionary schools celebrate Hindu festivals ? Hindu parents need to seriously think about whether to send their children to such schools. |
