A notice put up at the entrance of the Temple

Tuljapur (Maharashtra) -The Tulja Bhavani Temple Administration has taken a good decision to maintain the sanctity of the temple of Tulja Bhavani, the Kulswamini of Maharashtra, and one of the three-and-half Shakti Peeths of Maharashtra. The temple administration has put up boards in Marathi with a message that (devotees with) “uncivilised dress, indecent clothes and those displaying body parts, half pants and bermudas (shorts) will not be allowed” in the temple.  By putting up this notice in the Temple complex, the temple administrators have appealed to the devotees to remember the Indian Culture and heritage.

To this Nationalist Congress Party leader Vidya Chavan opined, ‘When will the youth get jobs ? The youth are intelligent they know what to wear and what not to wear. We will not accept this hypocritic Hindutva of these so-called upholders of Dharma. So, stop all these notices about the dress code. (There is a dress code in the medical, judiciary, and school departments, is it not ? We obey the rules there, similarly to maintain the sanctity of the temple it is necessary to follow the dress code. Of course, what else can be expected from those whose politics is based on sycophancy – Editor)

‘What they should wear and what they should not’ is everyone’s personal freedom’ – Trupti Desai, Bhumata Brigade

People come to the temple because they have Shraddha. It is their personal freedom what they should wear. Others should not decide what they should wear. (It is the temple’s freedom to decide the dress code that should be followed inside the temple. Others should not opine about it. – Editor)
