US Court approves the extradition of accused in 26/11 attack, Tahawwur Rana to India

Washington (US) – A US Court has agreed to extradite Tahawwur Rana, a Canadian businessman of Pakistani origin, who was involved in the terrorist attack on Mumbai on 26th November 2008 (26/11) to India.

The order issued by the Los Angeles District Court has stated, ‘looking at the charges against Rana, he is eligible for extradition. Rana had a hand in the 26/11 attack’. Rana was arrested in the US after India demanded his extradition.

During the Court hearing, the US prosecutors stated that Rana’s childhood friend and Pakistani-American David Coleman Headley had links with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Rana had helped Headley.

Headley’s plans were known to Rana.
