Mumbai – Well-known actress Shabana Azami tweeted on the movie ‘The Kerala Story’, “As the earlier demand to ban the movie ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ starring actor Aamir Khan is wrong, similarly the demand to ban ‘The Kerala Story’ directed by Sudipto Sen is also wrong’. Once a film gets a certificate from the Central Board of Film Inspection (‘Censor Board’), no other constitutional body has a role in it.” Social media users then exposed the slyness of Azmi’s tweet. Social media users said, “Though Shabana Azmi did not directly demand a ban on ‘The Kerala Story’ in her tweet, she very cleverly targeted those, who had appealed that Aamir Khan’s film ‘Lal Singh Chadda’ should be banned. No one had ever asked to ban Aamir Khan’s film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’.
Those who speak of banning #The Kerala Story are as wrong as those who wanted to ban Aamir Khan’s #Laal Singh Chaadha. Once a film has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification nobody has the right to become an extra constitutional authority .

Reacting upon the tweet by Shabana Azmi, many social media users have clarified the difference between ‘the ban’ and ‘the boycott’. A user wrote, ”Shabanaji you should have only mentioned that there is a demand to ban, ‘The Kerala Story’; and that there was never any discussion about banning Lal Singh Chaddha.

Many people had earlier appealed to boycott the film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ because of the Bollywood and its anti-Hindu mentality.
