Incident at Jashpur (Chhattisgarh)
Jashpur (Chhattisgarh) – The Police have arrested Nasir Ali Khan, a Congress leader and the District Vice President of Jashpur Congress, for hurting Hindu religious sentiments. On 3rd January 2025, between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., while prayers were ongoing at Shri Durga Devi Temple, Nasir arrived and demanded that the worship be stopped. When the priest, Bhupendra Pathak, tried to stop him, Nasir abused and assaulted him. Devotees present in the temple also tried to reason with him, but Nasir began hurling abuses at them as well. He further ordered the cessation of bhajans, kirtans, and aartis by asking for the loudspeakers to be turned off. After this altercation, he left the temple premises.
Following a complaint by the priest, the Police arrested Nasir.
