Inauguration of ‘Netra Kumbh’ at the Mahakumbh 2025

Prayagraj – The essence of Sanatan culture is spirituality, while charity is its expression, said Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri. He was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Netra Kumbh’ i.e. ophthalmology camp organized in Sector 6 on the occasion of Mahakumbh Parva. Joint General Secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Dr Krishna Gopal, ISKCON President Swami Gaurang Das Prabhu and others were present on the stage at this time.

Swami Avdheshanand Giri said, “The eye is the most sensitive part of the human body. We can see the world through our eyes. Through the ‘Netra Kumbh’, the life of millions of people will become brighter. They can see this colourful world.

This is a good example of attitude of serving others : Swami Gaurang Das Prabhu

Swami Gaurang Das Prabhu said, ”Using different sensory organs, we can sense different things. The senses are constantly looking for different objects. Without the eye, one cannot see the luminous world. Hence, organizing such events is a good example of attitude of serving others.”

There will be light in the lives of visually impaired people : Dr Krishna Gopal

Dr Krishna Gopal said, “Netra Kumbh will spread a good message in the society. No one will be visually impaired now. Such people can have light in their lives.”

During the event, Praveen Basani, Managing Trustee of Shri Ranchhoddas Bapuji Trust, and Govind Raj, National President of ‘Saksham’, also expressed their opinion. The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Organizing Committee General Manager Satya Vijay Singh, General Secretary Sarvajna Ram Mishra, Media Coordinator Dr Kritika Agarwal, Dr Kamalakar Singh, Satpal Gulati, Satyaveer Singh and others welcomed the guests. Chandrashekhar, National Organization Minister of the ‘Saksham’ organization, introduced while Kavindra Pratap Singh concluded the event.

Over 5 lakh people to get their vision checked

In the ‘Netra Kumbh’, more than 5 lakh people will get their vision checked while over 3 lakh glasses will be distributed. Also, the devotees will receive free medicines and surgery.
