Rajkot (Gujarat) – In a shocking incident, fanatical Muslims in Rajkot claimed ownership of Hindu-owned shops under the Waqf Act and seized them from Hindu shopkeepers. Following this, the Police arrested Farooq Musani and seven other fanatics who threw the shop items on the street.
1. On the night of 31st December 2024, a mob of 20-25 Muslims, led by Farooq Musani, broke the locks of two shops in the Danapith area and discarded their
goods on the streets.
2.The mob claimed that the shops belonged to the Waqf Board and demanded their evacuation. Hindu shopkeepers clarified that the shops had been rented for
decades and that the land belonged to the Public Works Department, not the Waqf Board.
3.Shopkeepers have demanded protection and justice from this ongoing hooliganism under the Waqf Board’s name.
4. Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, informed that all shops have been reopened and the accused have been arrested.
5.The Police are thoroughly investigating the case, including verifying the validity of the Waqf Board’s claim.
