Shanghai summit held in Goa

  • India had discussions with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of China and Russia
  • Pakistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bilawal Bhutto participated in the summit   

Panaji (Goa) – A two-day Shanghai Summit was held in Goa on 4th May. Ministers of Foreign Affairs of many nations participated in this Summit. India’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr S Jaishankar had bilateral talks with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of China and Russia. On the other hand, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto reached to attend the Summit on the 4th May. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister is visiting India after 12 years. Whether India’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Jaishankar will talk with him is yet unknown. Both nations specified that no such exchange of proposals for such a talk between two nations seem to be likely.

Foreign Ministry informed that Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto was going to meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs of friendly nations at the Shanghai Cooperation Summit.

A meeting of the heads of nations will be held in July in New Delhi. Since Bilawal Bhutto is present for this Summit, probably the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif will attend that meeting. Bilawal Bhutto also will remain present then.
