Meerut (UP) – On 9^th April, a Hindu youth named Vishu was shot dead in Hastinapur near Meerut. Following the incident, a mob pelted stones at the houses of the accused Muslim fanatics on 10^th April and set fire to their farms and tractors. On getting information about this, the Police reached the spot and took control of the situation, and also tried to extinguish the fire that was set in the farm.

While Vishu was sitting on the school fence, one of the bike-borne youths shot him from behind and fled. When Vishu was taken to the hospital, doctors declared him brought dead. The next day, when his body was brought to the village, angry villagers attacked the houses of the accused.

Villagers said that there are constant disputes in this village. Even during Holi, there were disputes and violence in which, some people were injured. There was violence even before that.
