Police deny permission for Ram-Navami procession through Muslim-dominated area of Delhi

Delhi Police fear law and order problem !

New Delhi – Delhi Police have denied permission for ‘Shriram Bhagawan Pratima Yatra’, a religious procession on the occasion of ‘Ram Navami’ at Jahangirpuri in the North-West part of Delhi. In a written order issued by Assistant Police Commissioner, it has been stated that permission could not be granted for the religious procession, considering the law and order situation in the area. Last year, on Hanuman Jayanti on the 16th of April 2022, the religious fanatics Muslims attacked a similar procession, leading to violence. A senior Police officer stated that permission has been denied even for namaz in a park at Netaji Subhash Place, in the background of Ramzan.

Fanatic Muslims created ruckus last year on Hanuman Jayanti !

Last year, on the 16th of April 2022, the Hanuman Jayanti procession was peacefully passing by Jama Masjid, when suddenly, a fanatic Muslim named Ansar Sheikh and his fanatic accomplices stopped the procession and started arguing with the people participating in the procession which soon escalated to clashes. Stone-pelting started on the procession, resulting in stampede in the procession. The fanatic Muslims were throwing even glass bottles, along with stones, at Hindu devotees. The fanatics started setting vehicles on fire when the Police tried to intervene. Eight Policemen and a citizen were injured in the violence. Later, a video of a religious fanatic Muslim, named Sonu Chikna, firing shots at the procession went viral on social media.

Editorial viewpoint

  • Fanatic Muslims attack Hindus’ festivals, which is the history of post-Independence India. So instead of controlling fanatics, restrictions are imposed on Hindus to celebrate their festivals. Is this India or Pakistan ?
  • If this is the situation in the capital city of a secular country, it is scary to even think about the situation in other parts of the country.
  • Delhi Police is under the Union Government, and such a Mughal-style decision is not expected by Hindus.
