Pandharpur (Maharashtra) – In the name of injuries to the devotees due to accumulating coconuts outer shells, the sale and breaking of coconuts are being banned in the Temple premises of Shri Vitthal-Rukmini from 1st to 3rd April as per the Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code on behalf of the Administration. Sub-Divisional Officer Gajanan Gurav has issued these orders.
Along with this, there is a ban on the sale of mutton and animal slaughter during the yatra period in Pandharpur. These orders also are passed by the Sub-Divisional Officer Gajanan Gurav. (Why ban the sale and slaughter of animals only during yatra in the temple premises, pilgrimages ? In fact there should be a total ban. – Editor)
