New Delhi – The Union Government is drawing a line based on religion and dividing this country. It should be stopped. “The politics of fear and hate is not new. What will they do to 22-24 crore Muslims ? Will they throw them in the sea or will they send them to China?”, asked Farooq Abdullah, leader of the National Conference Party of Jammu-Kashmir and former State Chief Minister. Abdullah chaired a meeting with leaders of more than a dozen parties earlier in the day. The meeting culminated with a decision to meet the Election Commission (EC) in Delhi for early Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir. He also spoke about demanding the status of a State for Jammu-Kashmir.

Abdullah said that Gandhiji used to talk about ‘Ramrajya’ meaning a rule for the welfare of all where everyone will get equal rights and there will be no discrimination. We should follow him as our ideal. There shouldn’t be fighting with each other. (Farooq Abdullah should tell us when Muslims from Kashmir would follow the path shown by Gandhiji ! – Editor)

After the meeting, Abdullah told reporters that today, the Jammu Chamber of Commerce gave a call for a ‘bandh’ to protest against property tax when the protesters were caned. It shows that the condition was not good in the State. Jammu-Kashmir is an integral part of the country. We belong to this country; so, why is such action taken against us ? We are not anti-nationals. (He should explain why Indians doubt his patriotism. – Editor)

Why doesn’t Abdullah say anything about AIMIM’s Akbaruddin Owaisi, who had talked about teaching Hindus a lesson if the Police were removed for 15 minutes ? Why doesn’t Abdullah talk about the condition of Kashmir, which has the majority of the Muslim population ? The whole world knows what is the situation in Kashmir.
