Indication by State Dy CM Brajesh Pathak
Bhadohi (UP) – Dy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak of Uttar Pradesh has indicated a change of name of the State Capital, Lucknow. While talking to reporters, he said that Lucknow is a city of Lakshman and everyone knows about it. The State Government will, therefore, soon change the name of this city.

BJP MP Sangam Gupta has requested the Central Home Minister Amit Shah, through a letter, to rename the state Capital, Lucknow. Gupta has written that Lucknow was presented to Lakshman by Bhagawan Ram in Tretayuga and it was earlier known as Lakhanpur or Lakshmanpur. In the 18th century, however, Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula changed its name to Lucknow.
Demand for change of name of Hyderabad to Bhagyanagar !
There is a demand to change the name of Hyderabad to Bhagyanagar for the last few years. In the national working committee meeting of BJP held in July 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to Telangana’s Capital as Bhagyanagar while addressing the party workers.
