- Shankaracharya Jagadguru Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said that a handful of people entertain crores all over the world through different media, but they mishandle sensitive issues related to Indian culture, traditions, Dharma and society. Therefore, on people’s demand, the Dharma Censor Board has been set up to keep a close watch on the scenes, dialogues, story, etc. of films, TV serials and web series, so that matters that spread hatred in society are prevented from being shown.
- Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council’s Vice President, Tarun Rathi, said that before releasing any film, Dharma Censor Board will check it from the religious perspective and will have the necessary rights to grant approval for the film’s release.
- If after watching the film, anything is found objectionable related to Dharma that can hurt the religious sentiments of people, the film producer will have to make the necessary changes. If a producer has to make suggested changes, he will have to spend crores of Rupees. So, any action in this regard will have a deterrent effect on people who insult Dharma.
