
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) – Om Raut’s Ramayan-based film ‘Adipurush’ has been receiving flak from the public ever since its teaser (short clip) was released. Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the yet-to-be-built Shriram temple on the birthplace of Shriram in Ayodhya, has also criticised this movie and demanded a ban on the film.

1. Satyendra Das said that all three main characters, Bhagwan Ram, Hanuman and Ravan have been wrongly portrayed in the film. While making the movie ‘Adipurush’, director Om Raut has not shown Shri Ram and Hanuman as mentioned in Maharishi Valmiki’s immortal epic the Ramayan. Hence this is an insult to our Deities. Therefore, we demand a ban on the movie Adipurush.
2. This movie has been produced by Bhushan Kumar with a budget of 500 crores. It has been shot in 2 languages Hindi and Telugu. It will also be translated and released in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. It will be released on 12th January 2023.
