Police seized 359 mobile phones on India – Bangladesh border

Kolkata – Indian Border Security Force (BSF) seized 359 mobile phones at India – Bangladesh border at Sukhdevpur in District Malada in Bengal. Soldiers on duty at Sukhdevpur Border Police station saw 10 -12 smugglers carrying some luggage/boxes. Seeing the soldiers coming smugglers took advantage of darkness and ran away in the bushes. Later Police found 8 boxes near the fencing blockade while searching. According to the BSF soldiers the boxes had 359 mobile phones of different companies and their worth is Rs 39.2 lakh.

Many names of the smugglers involved in the smuggling of mobile phones have come to the light and a complaint is being registered against them in the Baishnav Nagar Police station. BSF is taking stringent steps in stopping smuggling on India – Bangladesh border. Some smugglers involved in the racket have been arrested, informed the BSF officer.
