20 crore cash confiscated from the house of Arpita Mukherjee, close aide of Chatterjee
Kolkata – Partha Chatterjee, Trinamool Congress Minister of Trade and Industries in Bengal, was arrested in the scam of recruitment of teachers by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A day earlier, the house of Arpita Mukherjee, close aide of Chatterjee was raided and 20 Crore cash along with 20 mobile phones were confiscated by ED. Before the arrest, Chatterjee had been interrogated by ED. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had conducted inquiry in April and May.

ED has made inquiries of the State Education Minister Paresh Adhikari and MLA Manik Bhattacharya, some other individuals besides Arpita and Chatterjee. When the case of the scam of Teachers’ recruitment had reached the Court, the Calcutta High Court had directed to conduct the inquiry of the scam through CBI.
