YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government launches free Drone Pilot training, placement programme only for Christians and Muslims

Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) – Only Muslim and Christian youth are being given training for the Drone Pilot training started by Andhra Pradesh’s Jagan Mohan Reddy Government. BJP State Secretary Vishnu Vardhan Reddy criticised this policy.

Questioning the Andhra CM’s anti-Hindu bias, BJP leader Vishnu Vardhan Reddy tweeted, “Everyone has equal rights on the resources; then why @AndhraPradeshCM has specifically kept training only for students of 2 communities ? Why has the training been organised for students on the basis of religion ? This can cause communal strain between communities; the Andhra Pradesh Government is indulging in communal politics with our students. They should roll back this decision”. Notably, the opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh have always accused YS Jagan Reddy, a Christian, of spending huge amounts on providing services to the Christian community, with an eye on encouraging conversion activities, ever since he became the Chief Minister.

YS Jagan Reddy’s anti-Hindu bias and his soft stance on conversion and the appeasement of a now-significant minority of Andhra Christians is an open secret. Experts have expressed their concerns regarding the spree of freebies doled out to the Christian communities by Andhra Pradesh Government led by him, with an aim to encourage ordinary Andhra citizens to convert to Christianity.

In fact, last year, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh seeking a report regarding the action taken against the forceful conversions targeting the Scheduled Caste (SC) community in Andhra. NCSC had taken cognisance after the Hindu legal-activist group – Legal Rights Protection Forum and SC-ST Rights Forum, a non-profit legal activism organisation that works for Dalit rights – had in January 2020 written a letter to National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) over rampant forced conversions activities by the Christian missionaries and Church.

Editorial Viewpoint

  • If any State had offered such training only to the Hindus, the media, the liberals, etc. would have raised a hue and cry. Why are they silent on this issue ?
  • Since the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government came to power in Andhra Pradesh, favouring and appeasement of Christians have started in the State. The establishment of the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ is only way to prevent such discrimination.
