Varanasi (UP) – A complete videotaped survey of the Gyanvapi mosque and Shrungargauri temple is to be conducted and completed along with the submission of the report before the 17th of May. The Muslims requested the Court to change their Judicial Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra but this demand was rejected and the Court instead appointed 2 more assistant Judicial Commissioners, Vishal Singh and Ajay Pratap. Along with this, the Court has also given permission to open the lock of the Gyanvapi mosque. The Court has ordered the entire mosque to be surveyed, including the basement. The administration has been directed to provide security for the survey team. The Court has given a warning that ‘Strict action will be taken against whoever tries to oppose the team conducting the survey’.

A case has been registered against the Muslims who opposed the survey on 7th May. During this entire hearing the Applicant, lawyers of both the parties and the Judicial Commissioner were present.
