The BJP Govt of Madhya Pradesh will give an honorarium of Rs 5,000 to priests who do not own land

Bhopal (MP) – Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced an honorarium of five thousand rupees per month to the temple priests, who do not own any land. He was unveiling a 21-feet high metal statue of Shri Parshuram at an event called Akshay Utsav in the cave temple complex. He also said that lessons related to Shri Parshuram would be included in the school curriculum.

The temple administration should be done only by the priest

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the entire arrangement of the temple should be in the hands of the priest. There should be no interference by the Government. The temple land cannot be sold. The Government will not auction the temple land. If this needs to be done then only the priests are authorised to do so. And for this, a committee will be formed. In some cases, there have been reports of mismanagement in the sale of temple land.

Editorial viewpoint

The decision of the Madhya Pradesh Government is commendable ! All the State Governments should take such a decision.
