MEA denied reports that Russia had suspended the war for 6 hours to facilitate the evacuation of Indians

New Delhi – The Ministry of External Affairs denied reports that claimed Russia had suspended the war for 6 hours to allow evacuation of Indians by the Indian Government from Kharkiv. Arindam Bagchi, Spokesperson of The Ministry of External Affairs said, “Russia did not stop the war on our request.  To say that Russia stopped the war on our request means saying that the bombing will restart on our behest. I cannot comment on this news”.

Bagchi further stated 18,000 Indians have left Ukraine so far. As many as 6,400 Indians have so far been repatriated from Ukraine in 30 flights under “Operation Ganga”. Eighteen flights have been scheduled for the next 24 hours.
