New Delhi – Union Minister Anurag Thakur held a press conference at the BJP headquarters and showed a photograph. It shows Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav with the father of one of the accused in the 2008 Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts case.  Thakur said BJP has always strongly opposed terrorism. The Samajwadi Party has sided with those involved in terrorism. As the Samajwadi Party leaders of UP stood behind the accused in Ahmedabad bomb blasts, Thakur has demanded an answer from Akhilesh.

The Court has sentenced 38 Indian Mujahideen militants to death and 11 others to life imprisonment in connection with the Ahmedabad bomb blasts. The blast had killed at least 56 people and injured more than 200.
