Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Chief Defence Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others had died and Group Captain Varun Singh was severely injured in the Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter crash at Coonoor, Tamil Nadu on 8th December. He was being treated at a Bengaluru Military Hospital. He suffered 45% burns in the crash and was on a ventilator. He succumbed to the injuries on 15th December.
IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of braveheart Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed this morning to the injuries sustained in the helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. IAF offers sincere condolences and stands firmly with the bereaved family.
