Udupi (Karnataka) – The attacks on the Gorakshaks are highly deplorable. Those questioning the law of protecting cows need to be relentlessly punished by the Government. The existence of the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Ordinance turns out to be useless. The law has to be strictly enforced. Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt responded to the case of running over the Gorakshaks by the cow slaughterers saying that the Government should show its willingness.
Swamiji further said that this is frustrating that recently, cow slaughtering and smuggling is happening fearlessly. Society should roll up the sleeves to save the cow breed. The Government should immediately take the necessary steps to protect the stray cows. It should also shoulder the bill for the treatment of the injured Gorakshaks in the mishap near Bejjavalli.
