New York (US) – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has asked the Taliban to immediately halt their attacks in Afghanistan for the benefit of the Afghan people and act with mutual trust. Also acquiring power using weaponry is like drifting off. It can cause long-term war and Afghanistan could become isolated. Guterres expressed hopes that some resolution can be made from the meeting in Doha between Afghanistan and the Taliban representatives. Guterres also mentioned that attacking innocent civilians during war is against international human rights.
