Cochin (Kerala) – Mid next year in July, India’s first indigenous aircraft will be operational, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Singh reviewed the progress of this aircraft at a visit to the Ernakulam wharf of Cochin port.
Reviewed first-hand the ongoing work on the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier, which is India’s pride and a shining example of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The IAC has made significant progress.

Singh further mentioned that this aircraft is India’s pride and a shining example of a step towards ‘self-sufficient Bharat’. Next year, this aircraft would be a befitting tribute to India’s 75th year of independence. This aircraft has high capabilities and versatility. The combat capabilities, reach and versatility of the aircraft carrier will add formidable capability in securing India’s interest in the maritime domain.
