Terrorists in Kashmir kill a BJP Corporator

• Terrorism is rampant in Kashmir despite the dissolution of Article 370. No Government since last 74 years could put an end to terrorism in the region. It is a disgrace to all the Governments until now.
• Killings of BJP workers and activists are happening all over the country. The BJP is in power in the Centre and still the killings continue. At least the Government should now take stern action against terrorists and terrorism.

Srinagar – Terrorists in Kashmir gunned down the BJP Corporator, Rakesh Pandita from Tral in Pulwama District. The Deputy Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha expressed deep anguish and condemned the killing. Rakesh Pandita was a prominent leader of the BJP in the region.

Rakesh Pandita went to visit his neighbour Mushtaq Ahmad along with his son Braj Nath. Terrorists ambushed the house and attacked Rakesh Pandita with guns. The Police had warned Rakesh Pandita not to venture out without adequate security measures. A young woman, Asifa Mushataq was injured in the attack. The locals rushed them to the hospital. Rakesh Pandita succumbed to injuries and died during treatment. Immediately a contingent of Police and military arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. The Police started combing the area; however, no clues of attack were found until now.
