Arshad arrested, father absconding
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – The bodies of five members of the same family, including four sisters and their mother, were discovered in a hotel here. The Police have arrested Arshad, a 24-year-old son of one of the deceased women. Initially, it was suspected that the murders happened over a family dispute, but later a video was released by Arshad. In the video, Arshad claims, “We are originally from Badaun. In our area, Muslim men were abducting girls and trafficking them to Hyderabad. To protect my sisters’ honour, I strangled them to death.”
The victims are identified as 49-year-old Asman, and her daughters Alishia (age 19), Rahmeen (age 18), Aksha (age 16), and Alia (age 9). Arshad’s father is reportedly absconding. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death, according to the Police.
In the video, Arshad further claimed, “We had established a temple in our house. Muslim men in our locality are selling girls and bribing the Police to stay under their control. We had come to Lucknow 10-12 days ago to complain to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, but we couldn’t meet him. The Chief Minister is doing excellent work, and I request him to give me any punishment, but grant us justice at least after death”
