Mumbai terror attack convict Tahawwur Rana to be brought to India

New Delhi –  On 26th November 2008 (26/11), a terrorist Tahawwur Rana involved in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack has been extradited . A US Court has ordered his extradition. It is a big win for India. Rana is a Canadian businessman of Pakistani origin. NIA has been investigating his role in Lashkar-e-Toiba  26/11 terror attack. An NIA official informed, Rana was arrested in US at the extradition request from India. Now they are in the  process of bringing him to India.

International arrest warrant had been issued against Tahawwur Rana. A charge sheet against him had also been filed in Delhi Court. There are names of Hedley, Tahawwur Rana, hafiz Saeed, Zaki-ur- Rahman Lakhvi, Ilias Kashmiri, Sajid Mir, Abdul Rehman Hashim Sayyad, Major Iqbal and Major Sameer Ali. These were the masterminds of the attack. They had done a survey of the locations where attack could be carried out. Rana is accused of funding Hedley and his associates.

Editorial Perspective

After the extradition of the terrorist, the Government is expected to try him in a fast- track court and hang to death, instead of bringing him back to feed him because of delayed action.
