Three are Hindus, out of five
Shravasti (Uttar Pradesh) – A factory of printing counterfeit notes was run in Shravasti District on the Indo – Nepal border. Five persons have been arrested in this connection. They are Ram Sewak, Dharamaraj Shukla, Awadhesh Kumar Pandey, J Abdul Rehman, and Asgar Ali. The machine on which counterfeit notes were printed and other equipment has been seized, besides weapons. Counterfeit notes worth Rs 35,400 and real notes worth 14,500 have also been recovered from the site. Police found 26 fake notes of Rs. 500/-, 100 fake notes of Rs 200, and 24 fake notes of Rs 100 during the madarasa raid. Twenty-nine real notes of Rs 500 were also seized. The nabbed accused have admitted to printing and circulating counterfeit notes in the market.
Police nabbed three persons near the Bhesari canal bridge, acting on the information received by them. In the search, counterfeit notes and a pistol was found on them. On interrogation, the madarasa at Lakshmanpur on the Indo-Nepal border was raided, busting the racket.
