Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s baseless allegation against the Union Government and the Border Security Force
Kolkata (Bengal) – “The Border Security Force, which guards the border with Bangladesh, is allowing infiltration into Bengal from various parts. Bangladeshi terrorists are coming into Bengal. This is a plot by the Centre. There is a conspiracy to destabilize Bengal,” alleged Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Trinamool Congress general secretary and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, MP Abhishek Banerjee, has also accused the Union Government. He said that the BJP leaders in the State should question the central leadership regarding the atrocities being committed against minorities in the neighbouring country. The BJP leaders in the State, who find fault with the Trinamool Congress Government in every case and hold protests, do not talk about the ongoing atrocities against Hindus and other communities in Bangladesh, as well as the cold response of the Union Government. The Trinamool Congress and the State Government will follow the decision taken by the Centre on the situation in Bangladesh.
Editorial PerspectiveChief Minister Mamata Banerjee must provide evidence in this regard. If she has evidence, the public will hold the Government and the Border Security Force accountable; but it does not seem that people would take Banerjee seriously here, as she herself lets Bangladeshi infiltrators roam around Bengal freely. |
