Kumbh Mela to end on 17th April!
Haridwar (Uttarkhand) – Amid worsening Covid-19 situation in the country, the Niranjani Akhada has announced to curtail the ongoing Kumbh Mela at Haridwar. Mahant Ravindra Puri, Secretary, Niranjani Akhada, said that the Kumbh Mela will end on April 17. He has requested all Saints and mahants who have come from outside to return.
- According to Mahant Ravindra Puri, a pavitra snan will be held on 27th April. This pavitra snan will be the last one in the present Kumbhmela. Given the background of the corona pandemic, this pavitra snan on 27th April will remain a symbolic one to ensure the eternal tradition of the Mahakumbh snan is maintained.
- It has been revealed that 30 sadhus participating in the Kumbh Mela have tested positive for Covid-19 so far. The sadhus whose health condition is serious have been admitted to AIIMS Hospital in Rishikesh, according to information provided by Chief Medical Officer Dr SK Jha.
