Kolkata (Bengal) – In a 30 second video clip from Nanoor constituency of Birbhum district, Sheikh Alam, a religious fanatic and leader of the ruling TMC, is heard saying that if 30 percent of Indian Muslims unite, four Pakistans can be created.
- BJP’s co-in-charge Amit Malviya has tweeted on Alam’s statement that, ‘Y’day, TMC leader Sheikh Alam, giving a speech in Basa para, Nanoor, in Birbhum AC said, if 30% Muslims in India come together, then 4 Pakistan can be formed… He obviously owes his allegiance to Mamata Banerjee… Does she endorse this position? Do we want a Bengal like that?’
- At the time of the 2016 assembly elections, TMC Minister Firhad Hakim had told a reporter, “I will take you to ‘Mini Pakistan’ in Kolkata.” He was saying this about the Garden Reach area of Kolkata. He was sharply criticised for this statement.
