- Who forced the Wakf Board to withdraw such an order which was in the interests of the people ? The distress faced by people due to loudspeakers on mosques is well-known, and the religious fanatics are also aware of it. However, the religious fanatics do not obey the orders of the Police and administration, leave alone the Supreme Court. The above action to withdraw the ban order shows that if voice is raised against the distress caused to people, it will be suppressed.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Earlier, on 17th March, the Karnataka State Board of Auqaf (waqf) in a circular had restricted the management of mosques and dargahs from using loudspeakers between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. during namaaz citing the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and had said loudspeakers used during daytime shall adhere to ambient air quality standards in respect of noise.
The circular read, “It is observed that increasing ambient noise level around many mosques and Dargahs due to generator sets, loudspeakers and public address systems have deleterious effects on human health and the psychological well-being of the people.
However, the order which was welcomed by all sections of society was inexplicably withdrawn by Karnataka State Board of Auqaf within 24 hours to the detriment of general public.
