Glimpses from the Haridwar Mahakumbha

Devotees along with Sages & Saints had a Holy bath on Maghi Pournima

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – On Maghi Pournima, devotees bathed at the Brahma Kund at Har-Ki-Paudi and the banks of the Ganga from early morning. Saints and Mahants who reached here for Mahakumbha also bathed. This is the fourth bath in the Haridwar Mahakumbha. It is believed that bathing in the Ganges washes away all sins, just as it happens on Pousha Pournima. It is believed that bathing in the Holy River Ganga on this day keeps the skin healthy, and that Shri Vishnu Himself resides in the Ganga on Maghi Pournima. Bathing on this day and then donating is considered to be very auspicious.

Installing the Dharmadhwaja in Shri Panchayati Akhada Niranjani

The Dharmadhwaja (Flag of Dharma) hoisting ceremony took place at the Shri Panchayati Akhada Niranjani in the morning. Mahant Narendra Giri (President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad), Swami Kailashanand Giri, Acharya Mahamandleshwar, Mahant Damodardas, Mahant Lalitanand, etc. were present on the occasion. Kumbha Mela Officer Mr. Deepak Rawat, Mr. Chetan Rajhans (National Spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha), Mr. Shriram Luktuke (Uttarakhand Coordinator of HJS), Mr. Kartik Salunke (Punjab and Haryana Coordinator of HJS) were also present. They obtained the blessings of the Saints.

Grand procession of Shri Panchayati Akhada Niranjani’s Peshwai

Chief Minister present on the occasion : Flowers showered from a helicopter

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – A grand procession of Shri Panchayati Akhada Niranjani’s Peshwai was taken out here on 3rd  March. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was present on the occasion. He visited all the Saints. During the procession, flowers were showered on the Saints and Mahants from a helicopter and two gliders. The main attractions of this Peshwai were camels, elephants, a silver throne, chariots, etc. This also conveyed a message of protection from the coronavirus. The Peshwai was led by Swami Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand.
