If TMC wins, honorarium paid to Maulanas and Imams to be increased ! – TMC leader Firhad Hakim’s promise in a Mosque

  • As per the code of conduct for election, Mosques, Churches, Temples or other places of worship should not be used as forum for election campaigning. However a TMC leader is directly making promises in a Mosque ! Election commission should act stringently against him !
  • Shiv Sena Chief Balasaheb Thackeray was banned from voting and contesting in elections for 6 years onseeking votes in name of Hindutva; such an action is never taken against religious fanatics !
  • Hindu leaders never promise to provide or to increase the current honorarium of temple priests. Because Hindus do not constitute a vote bank. To change this, Hindus should now become a vote bank !

Kolkata – While campaigning for the upcoming elections, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Firhad Hakim promised that the honorarium paid to Imams would be increased if the Mamata Banaerjee- run-TMC is voted back to power. He was addressing supporters in a Mosque. When a reporter asked him, how he can make such promises when the Election code of conduct is in force, Hakim evaded the question. He claimed to have made no such promise. .

BJP has registered a formal complaint with the election commission for breach of conduct.
