Kolkata – While campaigning for the upcoming elections, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Firhad Hakim promised that the honorarium paid to Imams would be increased if the Mamata Banaerjee- run-TMC is voted back to power. He was addressing supporters in a Mosque. When a reporter asked him, how he can make such promises when the Election code of conduct is in force, Hakim evaded the question. He claimed to have made no such promise. .

BJP has registered a formal complaint with the election commission for breach of conduct.
