New Delhi – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a recent interview said that mass conversions in the country should stop. He said that he does not approve of conversion for marriage. He voiced his support for the anti-love jihad law legislated by Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) Governments.
Rajnath Singh added, ‘I want to ask why there should be conversion ? I can see there are cases of mass conversions in many places. It should be stopped. You might have seen in many cases the religious conversion is being done forcefully and sometimes it is done due to greed. There is difference between ‘natural marriage’ and forceful conversions in the pretext of marriage. I think the governments which made these laws, considered all these things. I believe that a true Hindu will not discriminate based on caste, religion and sects.’
