It is evident from this threat that democracy has been completely destroyed in Bengal. With this pathetic state of law and order in the state, will it be surprising if this threat becomes a reality? This is the reason why the present government should be removed and President’s rule imposed.
Kolkata – Assembly elections are due in Bengal next year; but before that, political clashes have started between BJP and Trinamool Congress. Now, graffiti have been discovered in Nadia district threatening voters with dire consequences if they do not vote for the TMC. The writing, which is in Bengali says that, “If there is a single vote against the TMC, then we will shed the rivers of blood. If you give a single vote to the BJP, you will have to bear its consequences”. It is not yet clear, who has written this threat. BJP’s Jagannath Sarkar is the sitting MP, and Trinamool Congress’s Arindam Bhattacharya is the MLA for the constituency.
Prior to this threat in Nadia, on the 19th of December a BJP office was set on fire by some miscreants in Barrackpore of North 24 Parganas district, causing tension in the area. The incident took place after Trinamool Congress MLA Sheelabhadra Dutt joined the BJP in presence of Home Minister Amit Shah.
At present Home Minister and BJP leaderer Amit Shah is on a 2-day visit to Bengal. He addressed a gathering in Midnapore.
