Religious freedom under threat in 10 countries including Pakistan, China – America

America warns of sanctions

America finally realised which countries actually suppress freedom of religion! Hindus in Pakistan are facing an existential crisis due their persecution over 7 decades, for which, Pakistan should be declared as a rogue nation and the world should boycott it until it reforms, thereby protecting the Pakistani Hindus!

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

Washington DC  – America has expressed concern about the state of religious minorities while declaring a list of countries where freedom of religion is being violated. The list which includes Pakistan and China, comprises of Myanmar, Eritrea, Iran, Nigeria, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The list serves as a warning to these nations or to face sanctions.

  1. The Department of State has devised a distinct list of countries where freedom of religion is being seriously violated. This list includes Comoros, Cuba, Nicaragua and Russia.
  2. These 10 nations have failed to control the persecution of their religious minorities. India has voiced concerns several times regarding the incessant persecution of Hindus in Pakistan, owing to which, the US has included Pakistan in the list. Whereas, China is on the list due to the persecution of its Uyghur Muslims.
  3. The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that religious freedom is a right and is necessary for a liberal society. The governments of Sudan and Uzbekistan have reformed their nations by undertaking significant amendments, based on which, they have been removed from the global list. The laws and bold resolutions made by these nations are an ideal for others to follow, he added.
  4. Terrorist organisations Al-Shabaab, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, Houthis, Islamic State, Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin and Taliban have been placed in ‘Special Concern’ category by America.
